If something is not working, or you would like to suggest an improvement to OCIA Companion, we read every message.
i.Getting in Touch
OCIA Companion is built and maintained by Credoworks. If you have a question — practical, technical, pastoral, or about the OCIA process itself — write to us and we will do our best to help.
We read every message we receive. Response time is typically within five business days; for urgent issues affecting an active classroom, please include "URGENT" in your subject line.
ii.Reporting an Issue
When something is not working, a little detail goes a long way. If you can, please include:
- Your role in the app (candidate, sponsor, director, or diocese administrator)
- Your device model and operating-system version, or which browser if you're on the web
- A brief description of what you were trying to do
- What you expected to happen, and what actually happened
- A screenshot, if relevant
For account or sign-in issues, please write from the email address on the account so we can verify it's you.
iii.Frequently Asked
I'm not in OCIA — can I still use the app?
OCIA Companion is designed around parish-licensed classrooms with directors, sponsors, and candidates. If you are not part of a parish using OCIA Companion, the app's features won't be available to you. We may add resources for general formation in the future.
How do I join a classroom?
Candidates and sponsors join either by entering a class code shared by their director, or by accepting a sponsor invitation sent by email. Directors create their classroom after signing up as a director and selecting their parish.
Will my catechist or director see what I write?
It depends on where you wrote it. Discussion posts, quiz responses, attendance, and poll answers are visible to your classroom per each feature's design. Direct messages between you and your sponsor are visible only to the two of you. Your notification preferences, password, and email are never shown to other members.
Is there a web version, or is it iOS-only?
OCIA Companion is available on iOS and Android, with a web companion at ociacompanion.app.
How do I change or turn off notifications?
In the app's settings you can toggle individual categories (announcements, discussions, messages) or silence everything with the master switch. Your device's system settings also control whether the app may notify you at all.
What happens to my entries when OCIA ends and I am received into the Church?
Your account remains active and your classroom content remains available as long as the parish keeps the classroom open. Many people use it as a personal record of the year.
How do I delete my account?
Write to contact@credoworks.net from the email address on your account, and we will process the deletion. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to shared content (discussion posts, sent messages) after deletion.
iv.For Parishes & Dioceses
OCIA Companion is licensed at the parish level, with a free trial when a director first signs up. Dioceses can license the platform across all of their parishes through a diocese administrator account. For questions about pricing, onboarding, training, or anything else specific to your parish or diocese, please write to us.
v.Feature Requests
We are a small studio and we release slowly. We read every suggestion, even when we can't reply to each one. If something about OCIA Companion should be different, please tell us — directors and catechists know the work better than we do.
